Admission
of the temples: one, three or seven day-passes are available
Ticket
are sold at the ticketting booth on the way to Angkor Wat. You
need a passport photo for the 3 and 7 day-passes. If you forget
it, they will take a Polaroid in a few minutes. The site is open
daily from 5 am to 6 pm. It is no longer possible to sneak in
without paying, as guards check your passes at the entrance of
each temple. If you are caught inside a temple without pass, you
will be charged the price of the pass ($20) plus a fine of $10,
and you will loose a lot of time in explanation.
If
you loose your pass, you will have to buy an another one. A
computerised system will be soon in operation at the ticketting
booth so this may change. If you arrive in Siem Reap in the
afternoon, you are allowed to buy the pass for the following day
at 5:00 pm. It will allow you free access on the same day
after 5:15 pm, just in time to to enjoy a beautiful sunset from
the top of Phnom Bakeng.
